The TTU Baja story began in a small shop in the basement of Brown Hall in 1977. The program started small, but grew---due in part to its success, but mostly to the generosity of our sponsors. Since the inception of the program, the TTU team has been very highly decorated, finishing in the top ten in over eighty percent of the competitions entered. The team has garnered eleven 1st place finishes, the most recent being at Auburn in 2006. Though the cars have changed significantly throughout the years, the objective has not---and that is to design and build high quality vehicles that win races.
The program at TTU is supported as much by the members of years gone by as it is by current members. Rather than starting anew each year, we build on the knowledge and skills of those who came before us. Because of that, each year has seen a vehicle that is faster, lighter, and more capable than its predecessors. This year will be no exception.
The team, in conjunction with the University and the support of our sponsors, looks forward to the future.
